Emily Dickinson was born on December 10,1830 in Amherst,Massachusets. She never got married and lived a very simple lifestyle. For many years she lived in isolation. Many people thought she lived in isolation to get away from mainstream society and focus on writing poems from the heart. Most of her education was from Mount Holyoke Female Seminary. Her grandfather,Samuel Fowler Dickinson, was a well known lawyer around her home town. Her father ,Edward Dickinson, was very strict and had a large interest in literature. Her mother, Emily Norcross Dickinson, had great domestic skills. Emily Dickinson wrote very few poems during 1858 and 1866. In 1884 she had a nervous breakdown. On May 15, 1886 Emily Dickinson died. Her major works include: Wild Nights! Wild Nights!, I'm Nobody, and Heart, We Will Forget Him.

Personal Response: I liked the poem very much because it gave a look at her life in Amherst. When she lived in Amherst she wasn't "somebody" . But Dickinson liked being a nobody better. The birds jocoser sung;
The sunshine threw his hat away,

The breezes brought dejected
And bathed them in the glee;

And signed the fete away.
